Map Construction Competition
2000

Following the amazing success of our previous competition and those
of other similar sites, and because we are receiving a greatly increasing
number of maps, it has been decided that map reviewers should be
appointed from those of you who represent the cartographical elite.

To ensure total fairness one appointment will be made, on merit, in the following catagories:

Original Creativity: what can you offer that no - one has thought of before?	Submit - Subject line: Orig
Artistic Impression: do your maps deserve framing?	Submit - Subject line: Art
Storyline Development: Does Tolkien's work pale in comparison to your magnificent creations?	Submit - Subject line: Story
Open Choice	To this position will be raised whoever YOU want: simply send the name of your favourite COMPETITION only map from this site. here
Outstanding Contribution	Simple! Whoever sends the most maps - but no pseudo - random efforts please. Such a submission could adversely affect your chance of success with any map...;-)

These Judges will supplement the Runemaster and myself (Mapmaker - General) in providing honest reviews of the maps submitted to this site: if you wish to ascend to such a noble and privledged position then enter the competition. The Bench of Judges review section will be established immediately the winners are announced. The new Judges will also be able to make certain awards to the creators of worthy maps - more on this in the future...

Rules and regulations:

The winners will be declared on the 20th December 2000 - please have your map in by 15th December 2000.

Please include at least one e-mail address that will remain valid for the duration of the competition with your map.

If possible, please send your map in a Winzip file.

A basic level of playability is required. For example in the Artistic catagory, a visually amazing map will not win if it has obvious severe bugs.

Final Disclaimer and Remarks:

Those who succeed really will do so solely on the criteria above and in these limited numbers - this may well mean that many creators of magnificent maps eminently suited to these roles may miss out on them. I can only suggest that anyone believing they have been unfairly overlooked tells us why they should be a reviewer: be detailed: if you have been a heroes map author since you were 7, say so. Such (truthful - we have contacts you know...) information will assist in making any other awards. (I bet you expected: "What we decide is final and no corresspondence will be entered into" didn't you? We try to be totally open and fair here.)
